Before Sunrise (2021-2022) started as a tribute to the AKEEM event every Saturday at Rocket. It gave Mala a sense of home when arriving to Milan for the first time in 2021. As the city made her think more about her identity and skin color, she for the first time felt the consequences of micro aggressions. Mala never felt like she belonged until she one Saturday went to Rocket which is probably the most diverse you will see Milan.

It becomes a weekly meet-up spot for people of color and most importantly, there is no racism or discrimination.
